Dear Members:

MHSA is in search of a new Dressage and Eventing Point Secretary, beginning in the 2024 competition year (starts December 1, 2023).

Duties include:

  • At the start of each competition year, and throughout the year, maintaining a list of all horses and riders nominated in the Dressage and Eventing Divisions of Missouri Horse Shows Association. This requires regular contact with the Individual Membership Secretary (currently, Nancy Ehlen), who will forward the names of all new/renewing individual members and nominated horses as their information and payment are received.

  • Maintaining records of points earned and cumulative points acquired during the competition year, according to the MHSA Rules. This requires contact with the MHSA Show Membership Secretary and show secretaries, in order to be aware of what shows are Member shows, and to timely obtain results from Member shows in the Dressage and Eventing Divisions. May also involve attention to show web sites, USDF and USEA, in order to gather all show results and encourage USDF and USEA rated shows to affiliate with MHSA.

  • At the end of each competition year (November 30), preparing a schedule of Individual Members and Horses nominated in the Dressage and Eventing Divisions, along with the cumulative points earned by each Member toward each year-end award, so to enable the awards coordinator in placing a correct order for ribbons and trophies/prizes for the year. Finally, to identify and list the placings for year-end awards and assist in sorting and presenting awards at the annual Celebration of Champions.

The benefits of this position include: Free Individual Membership and one horse nomination for the year(s) served, free admission to the annual Celebration of Champions, including dinner, and a “Thank You” gift (changes each year).

Please consider helping to keep Missouri Horse Shows Association the great organization we know and love! If interested, reply by email to [email protected].

                                                            Lucy Rangel, President
