Do you own or ride a horse that is one-half American Saddlebred?  Do you own or have a financial interest in a non-American Saddlebred mare that has been bred to an American Saddlebred stallion?  Do you know someone who has a horse that is one-half American Saddlebred?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, would you also like to increase the marketability of your horses or increase the range of award programs and competitions for which you and your horse are eligible, all for a nominal fee?

From April 1 to October 1, 2016, the American Saddlebred Registry is offering a special attractively-discounted registration fee of $50 for all Half-Saddlebreds 12 months of age and over.   The total cost for registering any Half-Saddlebred during that time period may be as little as $100, which includes a $50 DNA kit fee.  (For half-Saddlebreds registered from birth to six months, the total fee is $85, and for all others, the fee is $100.  The registration fee for horses registered with another breed association is $85.)

Why spend an additional $100?  What do you get for your investment?

  • Increased marketability of horses eligible to compete in more divisions.
  • Increased marketability of horses eligible for breeding in other Registries.
  • Eligibility of your horse to compete and earn awards in the ASHA Sport Horse Programs, including the High Point neck ribbon awards program and the Adequan/USDF All-Breeds awards program.
  • Eligibility of your horse to compete and earn awards in the proposed USEF Half-Saddlebred division.
