Fern Bittner of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Thursday, November 28, 2013. Loving wife of Groff Bittner; beloved daughter of the late Howard and Hazel Palmer; devoted mother of Stewart (Marsha) Bittner and Rhonda Mikiska; cherished grandmother of Jane, Jonathan, Charles, Lyndsay, Jessica, Jennifer, Katie and Samuel; treasured Great-grandmother of 9. She is preceded in death by here sister, Betty Spampanato.
Fern taught at then Lindenwood College as the Director of Horsemanship for 25 years. After teaching she began to work as a show manager, judge and steward of world championship horse shows, specifically Arabian, Morgan and American Saddlebred shows, as well as all breed shows. She is a life member of the AHSA, which is now the United States Equestrian Federation. Fern loved her horses and enjoyed teaching many people over the years.
