In past years, one of our greatest fund raisers has been the Silent Auction held at the annual banquet, scheduled for February 16, 2019. This year we are again seeking individuals, barns, and organizations that are willing to donate an item for auction.
We prefer new items wherever possible, but gently used and antique items are also acceptable. Popular items can include horse grooming items, tack items, treats for people, horses or other animals, liquor, equine related decorations, books, videos, tickets to major sporting events, paid stalls at major horse shows, or anything else you think would interest your fellow equestrians or their friends and family.
“How much” to include is really up to you – and it is nice to have a variety of items at a variety of price points so as many people can enjoy participating in the bidding as possible. All we ask is that you confirm by email to Lucy Rangel (below) before February 12, 2019 that you are donating an auction item. If your donation is a package of many items, we ask that you put a list of those items on the outside with your name and/or name of your barn, city, state, and approximate retail value of your item (so we know where to start the bidding). Please confirm that you are able to bring your auction item to the banquet or arrange to have it delivered to someone on the MHSA board.
